As Wisconsin’s voice for Lake Michigan and the rivers and streams that feed it, Lake Michigan Stakeholders is proud to recognize and champion Wisconsin’s Public Trust Doctrine, which declares that the State’s navigable waters are "common highways and forever free."
Just as Wisconsin’s Constitution recognizes the equality and inherent rights of all people, it also protects the right of all members of the public to use and benefit from its waterways, Lake Michigan included.
The water is ours. It belongs to all of us.
